WebI have never used tesedit to clean a mod or master file, and I don't think I ever will. I do stay away from mods that contain dirty edits with no explanation, though. Have played save games many hours with 200+ heavy mods and have better stability of vanilla skyrim, no crashing. nmm+wrye bash+boss is the way to go, no tes5edit needed.
