WebMay 7, 2013 · The dihedral of the B-17 wing was 4 1/2°. The measurement is not easy. See D&S B-17 Part 1, page 21. This has a copy of a Boeing drawing showing how the dihedral is measured. A 0.010" thick shim inserted between the top of the wing and the fuselage is about right. But, take care.
